EMPOWERED Kindness: Responding to God’s kindness (Copy)

2nd Corinthians 6:1-2 | As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

Psalm 106:7 | Our ancestors in Egypt were not impressed by the Lord’s miraculous deeds. They soon forgot his many acts of kindness to them. Instead, they rebelled against him at the Red Sea.

  • What does ignoring God’s kindness look like?

  • How did the Israelites (who were freed by God from slavery in Egypt) forget/ignore God’s kindness? What was the consequence for this choice? (If you’re not sure, read Numbers 14:26-30).

  • Look at your own life —

      • Are you ignoring God’s kindness?

      • Have you made Jesus Lord or do you just know the facts about Jesus and salvation?

        • Are you rebelling against God (or going against His ways)?

  • We learned that God won’t be patient forever. In the same way, we don’t have forever to respond to His kindness - our time on Earth may end or Jesus may return. If you’re ignoring or rebelling against God’s kindness, do you ever fear running out of time or what happens if you don’t change your mind? In what ways?
