EMPOWERED Goodness: Goodness shows God to others

Matthew 5:16 | In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father

1 Peter 2:9 | But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light

• On our own, we aren’t good, but God always is!! How can living His way show His goodness to others?

• When did you last show God’s goodness to others through your good deeds? How did this point others to Jesus?

• When a person does good, is it possible for them to point people to themself as awesome instead of God as good? How?

• In your life, do you use your good to point most often to Jesus or to yourself? How can you keep the focus on God and all He has done for His creation?
