God wants everyone to repent: Turn from wickedness

Ezekiel 33:10-11 | “Son of man, give the people of Israel this message: You are saying, ‘Our sins are heavy upon us; we are wasting away! How can we survive?’ As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?”

  • How would you sum up today’s reading in your own words?

  • When have you felt the heaviness or guilt of sin?

  • Why does God allow us to feel the weight of sin? What does He want it to do in our lives?

  • How does a person ‘turn’ from their wickedness or sin? What does this look like? What, if anything, do you still need to turn away from?

  • Do you believe God doesn’t want anyone, even the wicked, to die lost (apart from Him)? Why or why not?

    • Do you think most people know this about God?

    • What else might they think about Him instead?
