EMPOWERED Gentleness: Gentle hope

1st Peter 3:15-16 | Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

  • What hope do you have as a follower of Jesus?

  • If someone asked you what’s different about you, why you’re so at peace or full of joy, how would you answer them?

  • Why is it important to talk about Jesus gently with others?

  • If we aren’t gentle as God’s followers, how will it affect our testimony — or example— to others?

  • Our testimony matters just as much when we are talking to non-believers about things other than Jesus. Are there any topics that are difficult for you to talk about (in person or on social media) gently? What are they? How can you show gentleness in those moments while still proclaiming Jesus?
