EMPOWERED Self Control: Puts sin to death

Romans 8:6 |  So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

  • If we don’t have self-control, our sinful nature controls us. What does this lead to? Why?

  • Self-control, from the Holy Spirit, leads to what? Why?

Galatians 5:24-25 | Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 

  • What should we do with our sinful nature?

  • How can we crucify or put our sinful desires to death?

  • Instead of following our sinful desires, we should follow who/what instead?

  • How can we hear the Holy Spirit or know where He is leading us?
