John 3:16 | For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 5:8 | But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

• According to these verses, how does God feel about His people?

• Why does He love us so much?

• Do we deserve God’s love? Why or why not?

• Have you ever felt like the lost/prodigal son — like you were too sinful or too unworthy of God’s love? When/why?

• Romans 5:8 tells us that God showed His love while we were still sinners — long before we did anything to earn it. Based on this verse, does God love us less when we’re far from Him in sin? Why does He choose to love us no matter what?
