Proclaim: A compelling fire

1st Corinthians 9:16 | Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News!

Jeremiah 20:9 | But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!

  • These passages describe the message of Jesus as a compelling fire that you can’t keep to yourself.

    • Do you relate to this feeling? In what ways or why not?

    • Who do you think compels disciples to proclaim the Good News of Jesus with others?

  • Have you ever felt strongly that you were supposed to share Jesus with someone specific? When and who? What did you do?

  • Is sharing Jesus with others easy for you or difficult? In what ways? Why? What can you do to grow stronger in the areas you are weak?
