Proclaim: God’s messengers

1st Thessalonians 2:4 | For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts. 

  • What is the job of a messenger? 

  • If you had an important message, would you trust just anyone with it? Why or why not? 

  • 1st Thessalonians says we speak as messengers approved by God to be trusted with the message of the Good News. This means God trusts you with the most important message ever! 

    • Are you faithful in telling it to others? 

    • Are you telling it fully and correctly? 

    • Are you letting anything get in the way of sharing it? 

  • God’s messengers can’t care about pleasing people. Do you ever care about the approval of people more than you care about the approval of God? When and why?
