EMPOWERED Love: Obeys God

John 14:15 & 21 | “If you love me, obey my commandments. Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”

John 15:9-11 | “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!

• Today’s verses tell us that people who truly love God also obey Him. How is love for God and obeying His commands connected?

• Look at your actions. Do they show that you love God? In other words, are you obeying Him? In what ways?

• How are God’s commands connected to His love for us?

• How is obeying God connected to joy?

• What is one area that you need to do a better job of obeying God? How will you start working on it today? Pray and ask God for His help!
