Only Jesus could fulfill the law: Declared pure and holy

Ecclesiastes 7:20 | Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins.

1st Corinthians 1:30-31 | God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.”

• Could we ever earn righteousness through our own behavior? Why or why not? 

• If you are united with Jesus through salvation, does God still see your sin/guilt?

• Jesus declares us pure and holy.

  • How is Jesus able to do this when we can’t do it on our own?
