Only Jesus could fulfill the law: Live for God instead

Galatians 2:19-20 | For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God.

  • What does ‘dying to the law’ mean according to Galatians 2:19-20?

  • Why did Paul choose to die to the law?

  • Why did Paul have to die to the law to live for God? Why can’t we do both of these things at the same time?

  • Think about your own life – are you more focused on living for the law (good works, righteousness) or living for God (your relationship with Him, sharing Him with others, etc.)?
