God kept His promises through Jesus: Planned from before the beginning

2nd Timothy 1:9-10 | For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News. 

  • When did God begin planning our rescue through Jesus? 

  • How is it possible that God’s plan for our rescue began before we needed rescuing? 

  • How does understanding God’s plan for rescue since before the beginning of time change the way we understand Scripture? 

  • Why would God create man and allow the option for sin if He already knew we would choose sin and need rescue through the death of God the Son?
