ALLEGIANCE - even when it means struggle

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 | For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

  • What are some struggles we face on Earth or some struggles you’re facing now?

  • Why are the struggles we face here on Earth ‘temporary’- not lasting forever?

  • How can remembering that our struggles are small and temporary compared to the glory of eternity in Heaven affect our attitude? Our faith? Our willingness to keep going?

  • What are some of the blessings of Heaven that we can’t see but await us in eternity?

Hebrews 11:24-26 | It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin. He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward.

  • How did Moses choose to endure earthly struggle (rather than compromising his faith for an easier life)?

  • Why would Moses or any believer choose not to pursue a life as comfortable, easy, or successful as possible according to worldly standards?

  • What godly living are you avoiding because it's difficult or uncomfortable? What will you change?
