God wants everyone to repent: Turn from wickedness
Ezekiel 33:10-11 | “Son of man, give the people of Israel this message: You are saying, ‘Our sins are heavy upon us; we are wasting away! How can we survive?’ As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?”
How would you sum up today’s reading in your own words?
When have you felt the heaviness or guilt of sin?
Why does God allow us to feel the weight of sin? What does He want it to do in our lives?
How does a person ‘turn’ from their wickedness or sin? What does this look like? What, if anything, do you still need to turn away from?
Do you believe God doesn’t want anyone, even the wicked, to die lost (apart from Him)? Why or why not?
Do you think most people know this about God?
What else might they think about Him instead?
