Back to the Future: [Un]expected return- Lukewarm Faith
Revelation 3:15-16 | “I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!”
How would you describe a hot, cold, and lukewarm faith?
Younger kids:
What is something that is really good cold?
What is something that is really good hot?
Can you think of something that is good cold or hot, but not when it is lukewarm/room temperature?
What does a hot or cold faith in Jesus look like?
Why doesn’t God want ‘lukewarm’ followers?
Think about your own relationship with God. Would you describe it as hot (growing, passionate, on fire), cold (neglected, non-existent), or lukewarm (indifferent, convenient, backburner)? Why?
In light of this passage, what does God think about your faith?
What type of faith (hot, cold, or lukewarm) is accepted into Heaven?
What, if anything, do you need to change?
