TRANSFORMATION - Power in the Gospel
Romans 1:16-17 | For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
What is the Gospel, or the Good News about Christ?
What power does this Good News have?
Ashamed means embarrassed or fear of being made fun of. Have you ever been ashamed of the Good News of Jesus? Do you share your faith openly with others or do you keep it to yourself?
Faith (True belief in the Gospel) and Righteousness (Right living- living God’s way) should go together. Why is it a problem if someone has faith but no righteousness? What is wrong with righteousness without faith?
1 Corinthians 1:18 | The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
Why might the message of the cross and the Good News of Jesus seem foolish to unbelievers?
Do you currently view the Gospel as foolish, too simple, too difficult, or as powerful? Why?
