TRANSFORMATION -Before and after
Titus 3:3-7 | Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other. But— When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.
In this passage, we see an example of transformation because of Jesus. What was the before person like?
What was the after person like?
What happened in between before and after that caused the transformation or change?
1 Cor. 6:9-11 | Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
“Such were some of you…” - Before you gave your life to Jesus, how would you describe yourself? What struggles, faults, or weaknesses did you have?
“But you were cleansed…” - When were cleansed or made right with God? How?
How has your life changed since you became a follower of Jesus?
