GRACE - Giving grace because we’ve been given grace

Mark 11:25 | But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.

  • Why is it important for us to show grace to others by forgiving them and not holding grudges against them?

Luke 17:4 | Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”

  • When is okay not to forgive someone who sins against you over and over again?

Luke 23:34a | [While hanging on the cross] Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”

Acts 7:59-60 | As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” He fell to his knees, shouting, “Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!” And with that, he died.

  • Both Jesus and Stephen ask God to forgive the very people putting them to death. How are their prayers in death examples of grace?

  • Knowing that Jesus forgave you when you didn’t deserve it, do you think you can offer that same kind of grace to others, like Stephen did? Why or why not?

  • Who in your life needs to be shown grace right now? Why?
