GRACE - Giving grace because we’ve been given grace
Mark 11:25 | But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.
Why is it important for us to show grace to others by forgiving them and not holding grudges against them?
Luke 17:4 | Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”
When is okay not to forgive someone who sins against you over and over again?
Luke 23:34a | [While hanging on the cross] Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”
Acts 7:59-60 | As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” He fell to his knees, shouting, “Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!” And with that, he died.
Both Jesus and Stephen ask God to forgive the very people putting them to death. How are their prayers in death examples of grace?
Knowing that Jesus forgave you when you didn’t deserve it, do you think you can offer that same kind of grace to others, like Stephen did? Why or why not?
