Judges: The burden of our sin when we turn away from God

Psalm 32:3-4 | When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.

  • How did David feel when he had turned away from God and was living in sin?

  • Have you ever related to David’s feelings? In what ways?

  • What parts of your life, if any, feel like they are ‘wasting away’ or crumbling because of your sin? What can you do about it?

  • Why does God allow us to feel so weak and burdened because of sin? What does He want our response to be?
