In the Beginning - Confessing your sin

1st John 1:8-10 | If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

  • Yesterday, we looked at the importance of acknowledging or admitting that you’re a sinnner. But just acknowledging your sin isn’t enough.

    • According to today's verses, what should a person do after they’ve realized they’re a sinner?

      • Why is this step important? What does going to God for forgiveness show about our faith?

      • When have you taken this step yourself? If you haven’t, what are you waiting for?

    • What should change in a person’s life after they’ve confessed their sin to God and asked for forgiveness through Jesus?
