In the Beginning - The consequence for sin

Romans 6:23 | For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Isaiah 59:2 | It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.

  • According to today’s verses, what consequences do we experience because of our sin? 

  • Romans 6:23 refers to death and Isaiah 59:3 refers to being cut off from God – how are these two things related or the same? 

  • In what ways have you experienced the spiritual death or separation these verses talk about in your own life?

  • Teens & Adults- Can a person who has made Jesus their Lord be ‘cut off from God’ in the way Isaiah 59:2 describes? Why or why not?
