Down to Earth: Jesus was an outsider
Romans 5:8 | But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
Why did Jesus come to Earth?
Mark 10:35-38 | “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do us a favor.” “What is your request?” he asked. They replied, “When you sit on your glorious throne, we want to sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left.”
Rather than salvation, what did people want from Jesus?
Do you ever treat God like a “genie” who can grant wishes or a “vending machine,” where you can just ask for anything you’d like? What is wrong with this view of God?
Do you think Jesus ever felt frustrated when people didn’t understand why He was here or what He truly wanted for them? Why?
Do you ever feel like people don’t understand you or like you’re an outsider? Why? How does that make you feel? [Remember, Jesus understands!! He went through it too. You can ask for His help.]
