It’s Go Time!

James 4:14 | How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.

Ephesians 5:16 | Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.

The Bible teaches us that this Earth won’t last forever. One day, Jesus will come back and all of this will be gone. That will be an exciting time for God’s followers, but knowing that Jesus could return at any time and that we don’t know how much time we really have here on Earth should make us want to GO!! Not go like leave, but GO like get into action!! There’s no time to waste and this week, we’re going to prepare to go and we’ll actually see that we’ve already been sent.

Join us as we Get Ready. Get Set. Go!

For God’s followers, Jesus is our example. We can look at his time here on Earth and we should live like He did. One day, Jesus told His disciples that “It’s go time!” — there’s no time to waste. Let’s check it out—

John 9:1-4 | As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. “Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.

  • Why is Jesus in a hurry to heal the blind man?

  • When Jesus talks about the night coming, he doesn’t mean the time of day. Instead, he’s talking about His death on the cross. There is also another night coming when it will be too late for anyone else to choose Jesus. What is that event and when will it happen?

  • The man’s blindness wasn’t a punishment, it was actually an opportunity. What was it an opportunity for?

Ephesians 5:16 | Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.

  • We have opportunities just like Jesus did to share Jesus and God’s love. What are some opportunities you have every day? (Think of places you go, groups you’re a part of, your position/job, etc.).

  • Based on Jesus’ example, what does “making the most” of an opportunity look like?
