The law shows we need Jesus: Guilty of one, guilty of all

James 2:10 | For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God’s laws.

  • What do the 10 rules are covered in the law, or 10 commandments? [Not sure, check out Exodus 20:2-12].

  • Which of these commandments have you broken?

    • What is the consequence for this?

    • How do you know? [If you’re not sure, Check out Romans 6:23]

  • Do you ever compare your sin to the sins of others? When this happens, how does it make you feel? Why?

    • How could looking at our sin as “not as bad” as someone else’s be a problem?

    • How could looking at our sin as “worse” than everyone else’s be a problem?

  • Whether comparing ourselves to others makes us feel better or worse than others, James 2:10 actually explains that in God’s sight, everyone, no matter their sin, is viewed the same. Why is this?
