The law shows we need Jesus: Jesus came to fulfill the law

Matthew 5:17 | “Don’t misunderstand why I [Jesus] have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.” 

  • Why did Jesus leave heaven and become human? 

  • How did Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection accomplish or fulfill the law? 

    • Younger kids: 

      • Because we can’t keep the law, what do we deserve? 

      • Did Jesus keep the law? Because of this, what didn’t He deserve?

      • Jesus kept the law and still died. How did this make salvation possible?

  • Jesus fulfilled the law that we couldn’t keep. Do we still need to obey the 10 commandments? Why or why not?
