GOSPEL ESSENTIALS: Jesus came to rescue

Romans 5:8 | But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

1 Corinthians 15:3b-4 | Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. 

1 Peter 3:18 | Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.

  • Why did Jesus become human?

  • How did Jesus pay for our sin? Why was it possible for Jesus to pay for the sins of the whole world?

  • What happened to Jesus after He died? Why is this part of Jesus’ story important?

  • What does Jesus’ sacrifice mean to you? Take some time to thank Him for dying in your place.
