EMPOWERED Joy: begins with salvation

Acts 8:35-39 | So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus. As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?” He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away. The eunuch never saw him again but went on his way rejoicing.

Psalm 32:1-2 | Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!

  • Why was the eunuch full of joy?

  • Why should salvation fill us with joy?

  • How is joy connected to living God’s way? When your life is full of sin, do you think it can also be full of joy? Why not?

  • Spend some time today praising God for salvation. If there’s sin you need to confess, ask and thank Him for his forgiveness.
