The law shows we need Jesus: Forever forgotten

Hebrews 10:17b | “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”

Psalm 103:12 | He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.

Micah 7:18-19 | Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever,  because you delight in showing unfailing love. Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!

  • What promise does God make His followers in each of today’s verses?

  • What does this promise mean to you?

  • This week, our timeless truth was: The law shows we need Jesus.

    • How does the law make a person feel (since they can’t keep it)?

    • How did Jesus make a way for us to get rid of that feeling?

  • While God doesn’t remember our sin, sometimes we have a really hard time forgetting it ourselves.

    • Do you have trouble remembering that you’re forgiven?

    • Why is living weighed down by guilt and shame a problem?

    • Why is it important to live ALIVE in Christ rather than like we are still DEAD in our sin?
