The Wheat & the Tares: God is not fooled

James 1:22 | But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.

  • What do God’s true followers do with what they learn from God’s Word?

  • The weeds, or pretenders who don’t actually follow God, do what with the truths they learn from God’s Word?

  • Is God fooled by the person who goes to church and reads the Bible but doesn’t live it out? Why or why not?

  • James 1:22 says that pretenders fool themselves. What does this mean? In what way are they fooled?

  • Do you live out what you learn in God’s Word? If not, why? If yes, in what ways? Based on your answer, are you a follower or a pretender (wheat or a weed)?
