In the Beginning - Don’t let temptation master you

Genesis 4:6-7 | “Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”

  • At what point in Cain’s story is Cain tempted to sin? 

  • At what point does Cain sin? 

  • Reflecting on the first two questions, is temptation a sin? How do you know? 

  • Reread James 1:14-15 from Monday and Tuesday’s devos. When does temptation become sin? 

  • How can you subdue and control temptation so that it doesn’t master you/lead you into sin?
