In the Beginning - Why should I fear?

Psalm 27:1-3 | The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid?

The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.

  • In your own words, what is the main message of Psalm 27:1-3?

  • What are some things that you fear?

  • What did God rescue Noah from? What did God rescue you from?

  • Based on God’s power and love for us, which we see both in His rescue of Noah and of mankind, what do God’s followers have to fear or be afraid of?

  • Do you believe God has the power to rescue you, no matter what you face? Why or why not?
