Peace

Jesus says, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me” (John 15:4). If we “abide” (remain in Christ/do what God says) we will feel and receive the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-24). One of the fruits God promises us is PEACE.

Regardless of the trials and tribulations of this world, we can remain at peace IF we truly surrender and trust in the Lord’s promises. Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep in perfect peace, those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.” Our minds must be steadfast, sisters, steadfast in prayer and obedience, eager to do the will of God in order to feel that promised peace.

Despite the trials we are facing, whether minor or major, God promises us a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). His promises are never failing. Are we battling these trials of the world while abiding and trusting in God’s love? Or are we allowing our trials to rob us of the peace we are promised?

As you go about your day, abide in Christ. Be thankful for His blessings, and bask in the guaranteed peace that comes from our obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 32:17-18 tells us, “The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.”
