Othniel: Following the Leading of the Holy Spirit

Galatians 5:22-25 | But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 

  • The Holy Spirit changes God’s followers, but God’s followers have a role too. What are God’s followers supposed to do according to Galatians 5:24? Have you done this? If so, how? If not, why?

  • What does it mean to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading?

  • What does the Holy Spirit lead His followers to do? To not do?

  • How have you experienced the leading of the Holy Spirit? Do you usually follow Him? Why or why not?

  • If you haven’t experienced the leading of the Holy Spirit, you might not have the Holy Spirit or you might not be listening for Him. Do either of these describe you? What will you change?
