Set your mind on things above.

2 Corinthians 10:5 | We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ…

It isn’t just enough to take thoughts captive; we must intentionally choose what we think about. That sounds a little crazy… we should think about what we think about. But, as crazy as it sounds, the Bible gives us instructions on what we should set our minds on.

Colossians 3:1-2 | Therefore if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth

Romans 8:5 | Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.

• Based on your thoughts, what are you controlled by? Your sinful nature or the Holy Spirit?

Isaiah 26:3 | You keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

What do we receive when our minds are fixed on God and the things above? Peace!!

Philippians 4:6 | Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
