Thoughts matter…

Taking our thoughts captive - choosing to fix our thoughts on what is …. Is incredibly important.

This, along with setting our minds on things above, leads to big changes in us and in our actions. These Internal or inside changes have external or outside effects. The work that God is doing in us becomes visible to others.

Matthew 7:17-20 | A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

What fruit?

Galatians 5:22-23 | But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

When you are guarding your heart and your mind, when you are setting your mind on things above through the spiritual disciples of prayer, daily Bible reading, and worship, not only are you finding peace in your mind that is promised, but the world around you takes notice.

The Holy Spirit is the one who produces or grows this fruit. It is His work not ours that bears fruit. Spend some time in prayer. Praise the Lord for the work that is visible in your life by the fruit that is evident.

Ask the Holy Spirit to produce even more fruit and submit yourself to that work. Allow Him to work in your heart and your mind - renewing and transforming you into a new creation more and more like Jesus.
